THE STUDIO

Rigorous. Creative. Very nice.

The question isn’t always, “What do we call it?”

We help technology, enterprise, and other complex brands develop future-ready names, take the friction out of name adoption, and create better in-house central nervous systems for name development and management.

THE TEAM

Brought together to support your needs.

While every project is led by Caitlin Barrett, we custom-build each project team from our incredible network of branding experts, brand-language researchers, professional namers, comedy writers, linguists, and copywriters.

Namers that span the globe.

Wild Geese Studio is the proud U.S. partner of We Are Naming, a global network of naming experts.

This means we can quickly build out a globe-spanning naming team, gather international perspectives on our naming brief, uncover the nuanced cultural meaning behind naming candidates, and share naming best practices with collaborators around the world.

Currently eleven member countries and growing.

THE FOUNDER

Caitlin Barrett is a naming expert and brand-language strategist

Caitlin founded Wild Geese Studio after seven years as co-founder of Doublebit Narrative, where they led brand-language projects for complex global brands and built Doublebit’s naming business.

Their earlier career includes serving as director of verbal identity at Interbrand, helming the naming practice, and developing brand-language training programs.

Before Interbrand, Caitlin worked at the branding agency Ologie, and they began their journey at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, naming everything from scented candles to kitchen towel patterns—and even a very expensive ham.

Caitlin lives in Kerhonkson, NY, and spends free time training jiu-jitsu, lifting weights, and teaching newer namers everything they know via Naming for Everyone.
